This branch is essentially the story of Christian H. Isely and his wife, Elise Dubach.

Christian came to Ohio at age 3 , while Elise immigrated to America in the 1853 at age 12. They met in St. Joseph, Missouri and married just after the outbreak of the American Civil War. Together, they went on to pioneer the "Great American Desert" in north western Kansas.

Bliss Isely, her descendant and a noted Kansas histoian, wrote a biography of Elise entitled Sunbonnet Days (Caldlwell, Idaho: Caxton Printers). There is an online version of Sunbonnet Days [3] available.
